Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):

When God told Abraham that “all the nations of the earth will be blessed by your offspring,” He wasn’t saying that the Jews would be a blessing to every nation. Of course, the Jews are a very special people that have been a blessing to so many nations. But, they weren’t who God was talking about.

God was talking about Jesus! Jesus was a descendant of Abraham (read Matthew 1:1-16). It was through Jesus that “all the nations of the earth will be blessed.”

How so? Ultimately, through His substitutionary death on the cross and His resurrection. Through those two events, Jesus (fully God and fully man) secured the forgiveness of every single person who will look to Him in faith. As people trust in Him to forgive them and save them, they are made right with God.

And this blessing isn’t for any one specific people group. It is for “all nations.” Regardless of whether you are American, or Iranian, or Peruvian, or Korean. It is through Jesus that anyone, from any nation, can be made right in God’s eyes.

Friend, if you are saved, you have that message. You have the life-changing Gospel that God has always intended for every nation to hear and receive. You have been entrusted with the greatest news the world has ever heard. So, share it today. Look for someone that you can tell about Jesus and what He did for them.

Lord God, thank you for prophesying about 4,000 years ago that Abraham would have a descendent that would be a blessing to all the nations. Thank you that I know that blessing to be Jesus. I pray that I would be a blessing to someone today and share the wonderful news of the Gospel with them. Amen.
