December 30: “Heaven on Earth”

3 Minute Read

Be Still

To the best of your ability, get rid of all distractions. Take a couple of minutes to breathe deeply, to quiet yourself in the Lord’s presence. Then, prayerfully ask the Lord to speak to you in this time and let Him know that you will be listening and will make whatever adjustments He will reveal to you.

Today’s Bible Reading:

Malachi 1:1–2:17
Revelation 21:1-27
Psalm 149:1-9
Proverbs 31:10-24

Listen to the Lord

Slowly and reflectively read the following verses and listen to what God will say to you through them. Then, consider writing down any insights He reveals to you.

Revelation 21:1 (NLT): “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.”

Reflections from Scripture:

Simply reflect on the verses that I have chosen for today. Realize that there is coming a day when all believers will enjoy living with the Lord on a brand new earth in a brand new universe. It will literally be a paradise populated only by those who have been redeemed by Christ and are incapable of sin. It will quite literally be a Heaven on Earth. If you want to read more about this, simply purchase Randy Alcorn’s book, “Heaven.”

Spend Time in Prayer:

Spend time with the Lord, reflecting on the fact that no matter what life throws at you, Heaven is awaiting you. Rejoice in this truth.
