(See pictorial autobiography below.)

I have an incredible wife that God gave to me on May 10, 1997. Since then, the Lord has blessed us with three wonderful boys. I am also the pastor of a wonderful family of friends and we call ourselves the First Baptist Church of Polk City, Florida.

This blog will allow me to reflect on everything from my family, to biblical insights, to thoughts about what’s going on in the world around me, and so much more. I hope this site will be a fun, beneficial place for those who stumble upon it.

Lighting the unity candle

On the occasion of our 20th Anniversary (May 10, 2017), I wrote 4 lengthy blog posts to document many of the highlights of Kim’s and my marriage (that I periodically update). If you want to read the highlights of the story of our marriage, just click one of the following:

We have also taken some pretty cool trips in the past couple of years. I blogged about these trips extensively. You can access my posts by tapping on the drop-down menu under “Archives” on the right side of this page.

  • Washington D.C. (June 2016)
  • Colorado, Utah, and the Grand Canyon (June 2017)
  • Israel (May 2018)

  1. God bless you, my brother! I’m a pastor, father, etc.,… so I’m right there with ya, doing the whole blogging thing. But I do have a little experience in Murray – we lived in Hopkinsville for seven years and my wife took some classes at Murray State. Roy Cavender at WNKJ is a close friend of mine. Maybe one day when I’m back up that way visiting we can all go to the Wood Shed for some burgoo 🙂

    1. It’s a small world. Ken Cummins, the General Manager at WNKJ, is a good friend of mine.

Unfortunately, we might never be able to visit and enjoy lunch at the Wood Shed. I will only be here in Murray a few more weeks. I have taken the pastorate at First Baptist Church of Polk City, Florida.

  2. I really like how you’ve listed your roles in life in order of priority, in your tag line. (Exercise might deserve a notch or two higher). I just appreciate how your list honours God, his institution of marriage, family and then the rest of our stuff.
