“A Struggle of Faith”

I set out to write a little book (about 75 pages) to recount the miracle that God worked in my wife’s body a year ago. I wanted to have something to put on our bookshelf that kept the memory of how God miraculously removed a mass in her only remaining kidney. I pored over her journal (with her permission, of course) to recount how he walked through this journey. I took pictures of the doctor’s reports and scans. I shared lessons that the Lord taught us.

I ultimately wrote it to keep the memory of what God did alive. God likes it when we remember His mighty works in our lives (see Joshua 4).

But I also wrote it in a way that others might find encouraging. God might graciously use our journey to help someone else keep going when the valley gets dark. It might also inspire others to pray bigger prayers, maybe even for a miracle.

“God’s Grace in the Real World”

Life is hard. Sometimes, it might feel like we are hanging by a thread. Things can quickly spiral out of control if we aren’t careful.

But how can we think in such a way that we become better and not bitter as we experience some of life’s traumas? The premise of this book is that we must focus on God’s grace rather than the trials. We must look for and celebrate what we see God doing in our lives, even as the world sometimes seems to crumble around us.

Rather than toss out a lot of principles, the author shares from his personal experiences. Matt has filled this book with stories of what it looks like to live in a broken world while focusing on God who conquered this world.

The goal is to encourage the reader to refuse to be overwhelmed with the troubles of life. While we should acknowledge them, we must primarily focus on God’s grace working in and through those trials.

“Letters from Hell”

41qHWJ-foRL

In spite of the fact that Jesus often talked about Hell, it rarely comes up in current Christian sermons and conversations. In fact, it seems that unbelievers are the only ones who talk about Hell … when they use it as a curse word.

In this fictional story, the author seeks to unpack a biblical view of what Hell is like. With 34 letters sent back and forth from a man on earth and another man in Hell, the author uses the letters from the man in Hell to describe, in very specific ways, what it’s like there.

A secondary objective of this book is to expose and attack sinful, nominal Christianity. Someone who claims to be a Christian, and yet is not taking his pursuit of holiness seriously, will either be offended or will experience godly conviction and make the necessary adjustments in his life.

“Taking a Trip to Israel”

Taking a Trip to Israel (1)

A trip to Israel can bring the stories of the Bible to life! However, most people cannot afford a trip to Israel or simply don’t have the time in their busy schedules.

So, let Matt Ellis take you on his trip with his wife. They went to Israel in the summer of 2018 and he spent much time taking pictures, capturing videos, and providing reflections on the numerous sites he visited. In the pages of this book, you’ll visit places like Nazareth and Capernaum. You’ll take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. You’ll visit the possible site of Jesus’ crucifixion, burial, and resurrection. And these are just a few of the more than 20 sites that are highlighted in this book.

Making your way through the pages of this book will help you to ultimately get more out of your time in the greatest Book of all, God’s Word.
