This was one of Kim’s dreams come true. She received a week-long fellowship at the National Gallery of Art.
In the following picture, Liberace’s (yes, the piano player) nephew is showing his painting skills by demonstrating how to create a piece of art.
If I had planned the trip a little more carefully, we might have been able to enter the Capital Building and visit with one of our state Senators. He received information about Kim’s fellowship at the Gallery and sent her a letter a couple of months later.

Thank you, Allison. I realized yesterday that I had a bunch of pictures in my phone that I hadn’t used to create a post. So I wrote this post about two years too late but at least it’s on my blog for posterity sake. Ha
