Becoming a Wise Guy

Habakkuk 1:1–3:19
Revelation 9:1-21
Psalm 137:1-9
Proverbs 30:10

Proverbs 30:10 (ESV) “Do not slander a servant to his master, lest he curse you, and you be held guilty.”

The book of Proverbs is full of all sorts of wonderful wisdom nuggets. While most (all?) of us have never “slandered a servant to his master,” it is simply one example of the kind of wise sayings that we can enjoy and benefit from when we read this book.

If you want to grow in wisdom, then pray for it like James 1:5 says. But, then you should begin reading the Proverbs. One way of reading Proverbs that many have found to be beneficial is to read the chapter that corresponds to the day of the month.

All of us need plenty of wisdom to live this one life that God has given to us. So ask God for it and then do your part. You will be glad you did!
