REFLECTIONS ON TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE(S):
How long has it been since you have praised and thanked the Lord?
Praise celebrates who God is and thanksgiving celebrates what God has done.
So, how long has it been?
Take out two sheets of paper. (No, I’m not kidding. Go ahead and get two sheets of paper right now.) Then, label the first page:
“REASONS TO PRAISE GOD
FOR WHO HE IS”
Then, label the second page:
“REASONS TO THANK GOD
FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE”
Then, start filling each page up with the things that come to mind.
Think about who God is. He is loving – so write that down. He is powerful – so write that done. He is sinless and holy – so write that down.
Then, think about what God has done. He loves you so much that He sent Jesus to pay your sin debt – so write that down. He gave you a job that helps you to provide for your needs – so write that down.
Just compile two lengthy lists. When you have created a list of at least 5-10 separate items, begin your time in prayer by praising Him and thanking Him. You may discover that you enjoy spending so much of your prayer time focusing on the Lord that you find yourself wanting to do it again someone soon.
Psalm 106:1 (CSB): “Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever.”

I am thankful for people who remind me to be thankful..and to stop and reflect on God’s love for us!

Hi Matt – great post because we often forget how involved God actually is in our lives ! I would like to recommend something that has been useful to me. At the end of each day, before bed people try and go back through the day and look for at least three blessings that God had given or problems He helped with. I have found that there are at least three each day. This has really helped me on days that have seemed nearly impossible to handle and when everything appears to have gone wrong. By analyzing the day it becomes clear that we are not walking alone especially when we are suffering….May God continue to bless you.
