TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE(S):
1 John 4:9-10 (CSB): “God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent his one and only Son into the world so that we might live through him. Love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
REFLECTIONS ON TODAY’S BIBLE VERSE(S):
Do you want to know how much God loves you? Just look at the cross of Jesus!
That’s what our Verses for Today tell us. Just listen to how to NLT translates it…
1 John 4:9-10 (NLT): “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.”
But, there is something else that our Verses tell us. They make it clear that the love relationship between us and God didn’t initiate with us. It initiated with God. We simply reciprocated.
So if you ever wonder if God is tired of the relationship that you started, just remember that the relationship wasn’t your idea. You didn’t start it. He did.
Further, He loved you even though He knew of every sin you had and ever would commit and the price it would cost His Son on the cross (Romans 5:8).
So, nothing you do can cause Him to stop loving you because nothing you do surprises Him.
What is left to do? Enjoy the love relationship with God, my friend. Enjoy the relationship.
