Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
Friend, while there are people in this world who have never heard the Gospel, there are also people who have heard it so many times that they are no longer amazed at it.
In the verse that I have chosen for today, the Apostle Paul said that God’s plan was actively expanding. While the Old Testament was primarily about God’s relationship with Israel, the New Testament is primarily about how the Gospel moved beyond those borders. It went from “… Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” (Acts 1:8).
We, my friend, are the ones who were in “the end of the earth.” It is because the Gospel went out that we have received the invitation to become a part of God’s family.
If you have trusted, and are trusting, in Jesus to forgive you and save you, then no matter what life throws at you, Heaven awaits you. Just as Lazarus, in the parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man (Luke 16:19-31), had a horrible existence while he was on earth, he eventually was able to enjoy Heaven.
So, my friend, live your life for Jesus. Make it your aim, as you depend upon the Holy Spirit, to become more and more like Jesus as you live each day. But realize that no matter how difficult this life may be, if you are trusting Jesus Christ, you will one day be in Heaven with Him. This life will be a distant memory as you enjoy unbroken relationship with the Lord forever.
And it’s all because Jesus commanded His disciples to take the Gospel “to the end of the earth” and because they obeyed. Why not thank Jesus for His salvation today?

Lord Jesus, thank You for saving me! Thank you for the men and women who took Your command to carry the Gospel “to the end of the earth” seriously! And may I observe that it is now my turn to take the Gospel to people who so desperately need it. This morning, I am acknowledging before You that I am ready to share the Good News with anyone You may send my way today. I am restfully available to You. Amen.
