Today’s Bible Reading:
Today’s Bible Verse(s):
“Simon, Simon, look out. Satan has asked to sift you like wheat. But I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Luke 22:31-32 (CSB)
Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
We learn some very powerful lessons in the verses that I have chosen for today.
- Satan’s forces want to harm Jesus-followers.
- Satan’s forces cannot do anything to us without getting God’s permission first.
- Jesus intercedes on our behalf – and His prayers are always answered in the affirmative.
- The biggest thing Jesus prays for us is for our faith in Him not to ultimately fail.
- When we momentarily fail, Jesus desires that we come back to Him.
- When we experience God’s overwhelming graced, we can testify to the reality of that grace to others and strengthen them in their own trials.

Lord Jesus, I have often stumbled into sin and experienced Your forgiveness. I pray that You would help me to share the good news of Your grace with others who so desperately need to know that there is a God of second chances. Amen.
