Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
Do you ever wish that a prayer warrior, who had the ear of Heaven, was praying for you? I certainly have!
Well, my friend, you do! It’s Jesus!
When our verse for today says that Jesus “always lives to intercede for them,” it is saying that He is always talking to the Father on our behalf.
Just listen to this next verse…
Romans 8:33-34 (CSB): “Who can bring an accusation against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies. Who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is the one who died, but even more, has been raised; he also is at the right hand of God and intercedes for us.”
If you want to hear the sort of things that Jesus talks to the Father (in prayer) about, just read John 17. Every single verse in that chapter is the prayer that Jesus prayed to His Father on the night He was betrayed.
As you read through Jesus’ prayer, you’ll see that the chapter/prayer is divided into three obvious parts:
- Jesus is praying for Himself (John 17:1-5)
- Jesus is praying for His eleven disciples (John 17:6-19)
- Jesus is praying for every believe, which included you and me (John 17:20-26).
As Jesus prayed, He only spent a very short period of time asking for things concerning Himself. The vast majority of His prayer, as He was about to be put on the cross, was focused on other people. What selflessness!
While your name doesn’t appear on the pages of Scripture, you can bet your bottom dollar that Jesus is mentioning you by name to the Father all the time. He is interceding on your behalf.
Friend, you have a Prayer Warrior who is seated at the Father’s right hand (“right hand” signifies a position of incredible power) and He’s talking (praying) to the Father about you all the time.

Realize that you are highly valued in Heaven’s estimation!

Lord Jesus, when I read in the Bible about You intercessory work on my behalf, I feel so unworthy. Yet, I realize that this is exactly what grace is all about. Grace is a wonderful gift given to someone who has done nothing to earn or deserve it. Thank You for loving me so much that You went to the cross for me and now are talking regularly to the Father on my behalf. Praise Your Name! Amen.
