Today’s Bible Verse(s):
Psalm 25:4–5 (CSB): “Make your ways known to me, Lord; teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; I wait for you all day long.”
Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
For today’s reflections, I want us to reflect on the desperation and dependence we hear in the Psalmist’s voice.
He desired to know God’s ways.
He desired for the Lord to teach him His paths.
He desired for the Lord to guide him in His truth.
He desired for the Lord to teach him.
Why would the Psalmist express such a craving, such dependence upon his God for direction? Because … He was his God. The Psalmist recognized that God was God and he was not. He recognized his desperate need, his dependence upon God and expressed it in prayer.
But, he wasn’t finished. The two verses I have chosen for today end with yet another phrase … “I wait for you all day long.”
Friend, when is the last time that you felt and expressed such a desperate dependence upon your God? Over and over in the Psalms, we observe that the Psalmists had a happiness that often seems much greater than what we may experience. I wonder if we will recognize the correlation … that the Psalmist’s delight in the Lord and dependence upon Him was the source of his joy.
So, will you experience and express your desperation and dependence upon your God today? I sure hope so.

Lord Jesus, I need You, O I need You. Every hour I need You. O bless me now, my Savior, I come to You. Amen.
