We are experiencing a clash of worldviews in America probably like never before. Marxism and socialism are just a couple of those worldviews. There is also the secularism worldview, the atheism worldview, the moral relativism worldview, etc., etc., etc.
Friend, if you are a Jesus-follower, you’d better know what the Christocentric worldview is. You had better know how to think about everything through the lens of biblical truth.
How can we develop a biblical worldview?
By getting into God’s Word for ourselves. I’m not just talking about a casual reading. I’m talking about in-depth reading. Studying! Learning it’s content and philosophy so well that we could easily teach it to others.
Which brings us to another way that we can develop a biblical worldview. On top of studying the Bible for ourselves, we should listen to and learn from those who are farther down the road than us.
Virtually every weekday morning, I listen to “The Briefing” by Al Mohler. He begins every podcast (or you can access his website) by saying, “A look at news and events from a Christian worldview.” If you don’t already listen to “The Briefing,” start! It is usually a very quick 25-30 minute consideration of the top 2-3 current headlines and how a Christian should think about them.
I have also developed a love for the “Just Thinking” podcast. It is much, much longer. It usually runs for well over an hour. It also requires you to listen closely because the hosts, Darrell Harrison and Virgil Walker, are biblical intellectuals. But they aren’t afraid to take on the tough issues of society and look at them through the lens of Scripture.
Here is a video of John Cooper (lead vocalist of the Christian rock band, Skillet) interviewing Darrell Harrison and Virgil Walker (“Just Thinking” podcast). Enjoy!
