I set out to write a little book (about 75 pages) to recount the miracle that God worked in my wife’s body a year ago. I wanted to have something to put on our bookshelf that kept the memory of how God miraculously removed a mass in her only remaining kidney. I pored over her journal (with her permission, of course) to recount how he walked through this journey. I took pictures of the doctor’s reports and scans. I shared lessons that the Lord taught us.

I ultimately wrote it to keep the memory of what God did alive. God likes it when we remember His mighty works in our lives (see Joshua 4).

But I also wrote it in a way that others might find encouraging. God might graciously use our journey to help someone else keep going when the valley gets dark. It might also inspire others to pray bigger prayers, maybe even for a miracle.

So, I have made it available on Amazon. The book ($5.99) and the Kindle version ($2.99) are available for purchase.

HOWEVER…

I think the book is overpriced. It cost almost $3.00 just to get it printed (with pictures). Plus, Amazon takes a large percentage of the royalties. So, I created a very basic book cover to keep the price from climbing even higher. I only make about $1 on each book. But, it’s still overpriced.

The Kindle version is priced as low as I can make it. In preparing to publish the book, I was only allowed to price it between $2.99-$9.99. So, I took the lower price.

ANYWAY… here’s an excerpt from the Introduction…

Does God still perform miracles? Are there instances where wonderful things happen that cannot be easily explained? Are there still times when God steps into our experience to do something that goes against what we have come to expect as natural occurrences?

As I write this, it was a year ago this week that my wife watched a miracle happen in her body. I know some people overuse the word “miracle,” and I want to be careful not to trivialize it. A miracle is when something extraordinary happens that cannot be easily explained. It is certainly unexpected and sometimes suspends the laws of nature. And that is what I believe happened in my wife’s body a year ago. Many people were joining us in prayer, and God heard and answered.

I intentionally waited to write a small book to recount this event. I wanted enough time to pass so that further medical tests and scans clarified that God had genuinely performed a miracle. I also wanted time to process what we experienced during those trying days so that I could attempt to write as an objective observer.

So, as I recount what happened, I will also strive to be transparent and talk about our struggles. The Lord also taught Kim and me some spiritual and life principles, and I will share them with you. I hope it encourages your faith and reminds you that we serve a big God who hears and answers our prayers. It is also hoped that you will gain the courage to pray big prayers, maybe even for a miracle.

If you read the book and like it, please consider leaving an honest review on Amazon. It would also be incredible if you shared your reflections on social media if you think others could benefit from our journey.

Thanks!
Matt
