2 Minute Read
Prepare Your Heart
To the best of your ability, get rid of all distractions. Take a few minutes to breathe deeply and quiet yourself in the Lord’s presence. Then, ask the Lord to speak to you in this time. Let Him know that you will listen and make whatever adjustments He will reveal to you.
Read God’s Word
A Verse for Today
Slowly and reflectively read the following verse(s) and listen to what God will say to you through His written Word. Consider writing down any insights He reveals to you.
Numbers 23:26 (CSB): “But Balaam answered him, ‘Didn’t I tell you: Whatever the LORD says, I must do?'”
Reflecting on God’s Word
Numbers 23:26 doesn’t really require any explanation. It simply demands contemplation.
Are we living in such a way that Balaam’s words can truly be our own? Are we spending time in God’s Word to understand it, believe it, and obey it? Are we living in moment-by-moment surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leadership and doing everything He tells us to do?
Right now would be a great time to reflect on those questions and seek to give an honest answer to the Lord.
Spend Time in Prayer
- Ask God to forgive you where your obedience to Him wasn’t immediate or complete.
- Ask God to help you spend much time in His Word so that you can understand it, believe it, and obey it.
- Ask God to help you discover more of what it means to surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leadership and do whatever He leads you to do.
