God’s fingerprints are all over us!

  • People have a natural love for beauty because God has created us to enjoy what He has made.
  • People have an innate sense of right and wrong because we are made by a moral Creator.
  • People have a desire for justice when wrongs are committed and are frustrated when injustice takes place because we were made by a God who loves justice.

On and on we could go. God really has left His fingerprints all over us.

As I was reading in my Bible this morning, I noticed yet another trait that we share with God – we desire to be thanked when we do something kind for someone. We appreciate it when people acknowledge what we have done and offer a simple word of gratitude.

Well, friend, God desires the same thing. He appreciates it when we acknowledge His goodness to us and say, “Thank you, Lord.”

Luke 17:11-19 (ESV) “On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted up their voices, saying, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.’ When he saw them he said to them, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus answered, ‘Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?’ And he said to him, ‘Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.'”

Friend, God will send all sorts of gracious things your way today. Make sure that you offer up prayers of gratitude to Him for His kindness.

And, as a by-product of being thankful to God, you will notice that it brightens your day as you learn to live with an attitude of gratitude.
