Psalm 16:11 (NIrV) “You always show me the path that leads to life. You will fill me with joy when I am with you. You will give me endless pleasures at your right hand.”

We’ve turned Christianity into a religion. We think that showing up on a Sunday morning to sit through some songs and a sermon give us some points with God. We think that trying to avoid the really bad sins and trying to make good choices – at least in relationship to those around us – give us some points with God.

But, that’s not Christianity. It’s not even close.

In fact, if we would read the Gospels, we would see that this sort of mindset has more in common with Phariseeism than Christianity. The Pharisees were all about rules … but they had no desire whatsoever to have a relationship with Jesus.

But that is what Christianity is all about. It’s a relationship. It is knowing and being known by God.

John 17:3 (ESV) “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

However, it’s more than a simple relationship. It’s so much more than that! It is a relationship where we have come to enjoy our God and we long for the day when we will be with Him forever.

Psalm 16:11 “You always show me the path that leads to life. You will fill me with joy when I am with you. You will give me endless pleasures at your right hand.”

I could ask you: “Are you saved?” But, I could also ask you: “Are you enjoying a relationship with God?” Both of those questions are the same. Because being saved IS an invitation to enjoy God.

So, friend, are you currently enjoying a relationship with God? If not, you can. Why not pursue that love relationship today!
