5 Minute Read

Be Still

To the best of your ability, get rid of all distractions. Take a couple of minutes to breathe deeply, to quiet yourself in the Lord’s presence. Then, prayerfully ask the Lord to speak to you in this time and let Him know that you will be listening and will make whatever adjustments He will reveal to you.

Today’s Bible Reading:

Jeremiah 6:16–8:7
Colossians 2:8-23
Psalm 78:1-31
Proverbs 24:26

Listen to the Lord

Slowly and reflectively read the following verses and listen to what God will say to you through them. Then, consider writing down any insights He reveals to you.

Colossians 2:9-10 (NLT): “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Reflections from Scripture:

I’m not going to say much about Colossians 2:9-10. I want you to simply reflect on them and their implications.

Colossians 2:9-10 (NLT): “For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body. So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Those two verses clearly state that all of God the Father resides in God the Son. That means that there is nothing of God the Father that is not in the Son. Jesus has every bit of God the Father in Him.

Then, it continues. Look at what it says next. I will quote from the Christian Standard Bible (CSB). The next verse is incredible!

Colossians 2:9-10 (CSB): “For the entire fullness of God’s nature dwells bodily in Christ, and you have been filled by him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.”

Every bit of God resides in Jesus. And if you are saved, every bit of Jesus resides inside of you! So that means that there is nothing of Jesus (who has every bit of God the Father) that is not in you!

You are never alone, friend. And you are not powerless. Every bit of the God who made the universe resides inside of you if you are saved.

Reflect on that truth for a while today.

Spend Time in Prayer

Lord Jesus, help me to have a better understanding of what it means for all of the Father to take up residence in You even as all of You take up residence in me. Help me to see that it speaks to the potential for a wonderful relationship with You, the ability to do anything You ask of me, and of my infinite value because of You. Thank you so much for graciously saving me and then coming to live inside me. I pray this in Your Name, Amen.
