Script for the June 24th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast.

Introduction

Welcome to the June 29th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast. I’m Matt Ellis, and I’m the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Polk City, Florida.

Today’s reading is Job 14-16. But since there is no New Testament reading today, I’d like to simply pray for you.

If you have questions about anything in the Old Testament reading assignment, please email me at mattellis1997@gmail.com. I may answer it on the next podcast.

Prayer

In Numbers 6, we have a pronouncement of blessing that Moses pronounced over the Israelites. We are told that the Lord commanded the priests to bless the people with specific words.

Numbers 6:22-23 (CSB): “The LORD spoke to Moses: ‘Tell Aaron and his sons, “This is how you are to bless the Israelites. You should say to them,” ’ ”

… and then he gave the words that are found in Numbers 6:24-26. I’d like to say these words over you today as my prayer for you.

Numbers 6:24-26 (CSB): “May the LORD bless you and protect you; may the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the LORD look with favor on you and give you peace.”
