Script for the June 24th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast.
Introduction
Welcome to the July 5th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast. I’m Matt Ellis, and I’m the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Polk City, Florida.
Today’s reading is Job 30-31. But since there is no New Testament reading today, I’d like to simply pray for you.
If you have questions about anything in the Old Testament reading assignment, please email me at mattellis1997@gmail.com. I may answer it on the next podcast.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I pray for those who are listening right now who have a very special need. Maybe their heart is burdened by a family member or friend going through some serious difficulties. Or maybe they are the ones going through the trial of their faith.
I pray that You would give them what they need for today, Lord. If they need the courage to face a situation, then please give it to them. If they need the wisdom to make the right decision, the comfort to know that You are with them, the patience to await Your timing, or the faith to trust You more, please give it to them, Lord.
I also pray, Lord, that you would use whatever it is that my friend is facing to enable them to understand Your love toward them, Your faithfulness, and Your goodness. May their difficulties allow them to grow desperate for You. And then may they experience the truth of Psalm 34:8 where it says, “Taste and see that the LORD is good. How happy is the person who takes refuge in him!”
I pray this in the matchless Name of Jesus, Amen.
