Script for the July 14th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast.
Introduction
Welcome to the July 14th episode of the “Enjoying the Bible” podcast. I’m Matt Ellis, and I’m the pastor of the First Baptist Church in Polk City, Florida.
My podcasts will be spotty at best over the next week and a half. In the next 11 days, we will travel out of state to attend a wedding and a graduation. My wife and I have also reserved a place in the mountains of eastern Tennessee where we won’t have Wi-Fi and the cell service is spotty. We want to enjoy some much-needed rest and relaxation as we also seek the Lord together. So, please forgive me if I don’t create many, if any, podcasts in the next week and a half. Just keep going with the Bible reading and I can answer any questions when I get back.
Today’s reading is Psalm 10-12. But since there is no New Testament reading today, I’d like to simply pray for you.
If you have questions about anything in the Old Testament reading assignment, please email me at mattellis1997@gmail.com. I may answer it on the next podcast.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, as we read Psalm 11, we are reminded that our response in times of difficulty is to trust You. We acknowledge that You are sitting on Your throne in Heaven and are carefully watching over us. You are more than worthy of our trust, but we often fail to rest in You. Oh, for grace to trust You more, Lord.
Life is a bit crazy right now. As Americans, we can’t help but realize that our country is in serious trouble. So while we pray during these times, help us to trust You. And in so doing, enable us to demonstrate to a lost and dying world that following You is really in our best interest.
We pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
