Kim and I enjoy having folks over to our home. Not only am I called to do this as a minister (1 Timothy 3:2 – “hospitable”) but its just plain fun! There’s nothing like a home where there is plenty of chatter and laughter, where those in attendance genuinely care for each other. It is emotionally healing.

Today, after the morning worship service, there were 13 of us around the tables in our home as we chowed down on Kim’s lasagna and all the fixins’. My Mom and brother were passing through on their way back to eastern Tennessee after my Grandma’s funeral in Missouri yesterday. We also had a few others that gathered with us who we have essentially come to think of as family.

Then, after the meal, we gathered for conversation and then played some Taboo with those who remained. We laughed a lot which is healing to the soul (Proverbs 17:22).

This is just one of the many ways that God has blessed us that causes us to thank Him. He is so good to us!
