Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
When we read the Creation account in Genesis 1-2, we see the creation of everything. The sun, the moon, the stars, the farthest galaxy, and the microscopic atoms that are the building blocks for everything in the universe. Every single thing that exists was created in those six days.
But, I see something else in those chapters. Everything was created as God spoke them into existence. God simply said, “Let there be …,” and that thing was created.
There is one exception, though. The climax of God’s creation wasn’t spoken into existence. For the first time in all of eternity, God actually got His hands dirty. Genesis 2:7 says that “God formed the man out of the dust of the ground.”
Then, we see God continue His hands-on approach with mankind. He not only got His hands dirty but He also “breathed the breath of life into his nostrils.”
Friend, you cannot possibly comprehend just how much you mean to God! In the Creation account, we notice that He set mankind apart from everything else He created. He didn’t simply speak us into existence. He actively got involved. He rolled up His sleeves and got His hands dirty. In doing so, He showed us just how much He chose to value us.
As a Christian, we can look to the cross where God sent His son to pay the sin debt of every single person who will put their trust in Him. That cross demonstrates just how much God loves and values us. It shows us the price He was willing to pay to bring us back into relationship with Him.
Friend, God loves you and values you more than you could possibly imagine. No matter how hard you try, you simply cannot understand just how much God loves you.
So, don’t let other people tell you what you’re worth. Don’t even try to determine your own worth. Allow God to tell you how much you’re worth. Look into His Word and see just how much He loves you. Then, spend time today thanking Him.

Lord God, thank You so much for loving me and highly valuing me. Jesus, thank You for being willing to go to the cross to pay the sin debt of every single person who will trust in You so that we could bask in Your love for eternity. I want my love for you to grow as I come to experience Your incredible love for me. Amen.
