Ezra 7:10 (CSB)
Reflections on Today’s Bible Verse(s):
God is always at work around us. No matter where you look, if you look hard enough, you will see God’s fingerprints everywhere.
That being said, God loves to invite ordinary people to join Him in what He’s doing. He’s constantly looking for people that He can use to engage in His activity. But who does He use?
Friend, God loves to use men and women who are serious about following Him. Sure, He can use the most pagan king to accomplish His purposes. But He finds joy in working with His own people, those who are devoted and available to Him.
When we look at Ezra 7:10, we see three characteristics of a man that God used. Ezra spent plenty of time studying God’s Word, living in conformity to God’s Word, and teaching God’s Word to others. Stated again: 1) He studied God’s Word so that he could 2) apply God’s Word so that He had the integrity to 3) teach God’s Word.
Friend, do you want God to use you? Do you want your life to have a divine purpose? I suspect that you do. Then, follow Ezra’s example. Study your Bible so that you can live out its truths so that you are believable when you share God’s Word with others.
You only get one shot at life. When you walk through death’s door, you will stand before the Lord as He judges your life. So live this day in such a way that He can use you. Live it in such a way that when you stand before Him, He will look at you, a smile will come to His face, He will raise His hands to applaud as He says: “Well done! Well done, good and faithful servant!”

Lord Jesus, I want You to be free to use me however You see fit. I am spending a lot of time in Your Word. I want to understand it, put it into practice in my own life, and share its wonderful truths with others. I know that doing so makes me the kind of person that You delight to use. I just want You to know that I am restfully available to You. Amen.
